This year Councillors and staff have worked with the community to develop a community vision and values and a draft Council Plan.

The draft Council Plan (Mir wimbul) 2021-2025 reflects the priorities of the new Council and feedback received from the community as part of the Imagine Greater Bendigo process, whilst building on previously endorsed plans and strategies.

The Council Plan is one of our most important documents – it guides all Council decision making and the work of staff, outlining the projects and initiatives that will be delivered for the community.

Mir wimbul – what does this mean?

Mir wimbul means ‘community protocol’ in the Dja Dja Wurrung language and it is the dual name of our new Council Plan 2021-2025.

This is the first time we have given the Council Plan a dual name, which demonstrates our efforts to advance reconciliation and celebrate Traditional Owner culture.

The plan was out for community consultation until Monday September 6.

Feedback was collated and considered by Council prior to final endorsement at the October 2021 Ordinary meeting of Council.
