Community engagement is vital to helping us achieve our Community Vision:

Greater Bendigo celebrates our diverse community. We are welcoming, sustainable and prosperous. Walking hand-in-hand with the traditional custodians of this land. Building on our rich heritage for a bright and happy future.

Community engagement is a process that connects the City with the community to exchange views, ideas and information. Let’s Talk is one way we want to support that conversation and help you stay up to date. Learn more in our Community Engagement Policy (PDF, 158.80 KB).

Let’s Talk is here to make it easier for you to share your ideas and opinion on decisions, projects and services that will shape Greater Bendigo, and for us to keep in touch about how we used your input.

Through this site, you can:

  • Share your views, comments and ideas
  • Ask questions and have them answered
  • View information on various Council projects
  • Stay informed on key projects and initiatives

Let’s Talk doesn’t replace face-to-face consultation, rather it is meant as an alternative and convenient option for those who may not be able to attend face-to-face activities.

Whenever there is an opportunity for you to influence part or all of a decision, we provide you with:

  • The information you need to form an opinion
  • An opportunity to provide input through a community engagement process

Usually, we combine your feedback with other evidence (research/customer data), expert knowledge and our strategic policies and guided legislation to come to an informed decision. We are committed to keeping you in the loop about how we use your feedback, so please sign up to Let’s Talk to help us do that!

Our Community Engagement Policy details how we will engage with you and how you can have a say on projects that matter to you.

If you become a member of Let’s Talk, you will receive regular updates on how your contributions are helping shape projects you have subscribed to. You will also be notified when a project related to your interest is listed. Registration is quick and simple with a few important questions that help us understand a little more about you and your interests.
