Community Reference Group Members

We're really excited that the community has shown such great interest in being involved in shaping the future of Huntly. We received more than double the number of applications for the number of positions available.

The selection panel has reviewed all applications received by August 1 2022 and considered the information provided including age group, gender, specialist skills/knowledge, group affiliations and connection to Huntly. The selection panel has carefully deliberated the membership of the group and sought a diverse cross section of people in the Huntly community.

The 12 successful applicants will participate and collaborate in a series of workshops and meetings that will directly inform and shape the proposed Structure Plan over the life of the project.

Other applicants and the community will also have opportunity to contribute throughout the process and are invited to attend the upcoming workshop on September 8 2022.

The Community reference group members are (in no order):

As a member of the Community Reference Group you will participate and collaborate in a series of workshops and meetings that will directly inform and shape the proposed Structure Plan.

You will represent the views of the Huntly community, and provide input to the City on the future changes and needs proposed throughout the structure plan process.

The Community Reference Group will run for the duration of the project which is expected to be approximately two years.

Meetings will be held weekday evenings at a location in Huntly. Most meetings are expected to be 1- 1.5 hours and occur every two months. Workshops are expected to be 2-3 hours.

There will also need to allow time to do background reading and preparation to prepare for meetings and workshops. The initial workshops are proposed to be held in August 2022.

We welcome all applicants who have an interest in Huntly, whether you are a resident, property owner, employee, regular visitor, business, community member etc.

We are hoping to have representation from a broad range of the community with a diversity in interests, backgrounds and views. Individuals, as well as representatives of a community group, business, workplace, residents, sporting groups etc. are welcome.

We expect the Community Reference Group will include 10-12 community members, and will also include representatives from departments in the City of Greater Bendigo, and key organisations such as Coliban Water.

Not at all. The City staff are available to help explain and guide you through the process.
