The plan
The Huntly Structure Plan will:
- consider future expansions
- explore opportunities for more commercial and retail opportunities
- consider the infrastructure needs of the community for the next 30 years
Drafting of the structure plan has commenced, and includes feedback from the community and the vision that was voted for.
We are also preparing more technical studies to inform the plan including:
- Built heritage study
- Huntly drainage study
- Flood modelling for new growth area
- Epsom and Huntly Midland Highway
corridor review
- Neighbourhood character assessment
Related projects
The Managed Growth Strategy was adopted at the September 2024 Council meeting after public consultation in May – July 2024. This establishes a 30-year residential framework plan for urban Bendigo. It identifies Huntly as a growth area to accommodate longer-term growth.
