Heathcote Emergency Planning Workshop 3 - Finding a way forward

Workshops 1 and 2 have looked at how emergencies impact the lives of residents, using flooding as a case study. Communities have shared what is important to them and requested additional information specific to their needs.

The third and final workshop will focus on prioritizing where community effort is best directed (e.g. an action plan for the waterways, local emergency plans) to help prepare for future challenges.

We will work with each community to customize Workshop 3 so that it meets community needs. The workshop might cover things like:

  • Summarising what solutions and actions have been proposed to date
  • Discussing the pro’s and con’s for each
  • Working out the gap between what agencies can deliver and what communities need
  • Identifying the best way for communities to take action in light of any gaps

The third workshop will be independently facilitated by Maree Grenfell and Martina Holland. Emergencies affect us all, and everyone has a part to play.
