Revenue and Rating Plan Update

18 June 2025

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Revenue and Rating Plan 2025 -2029 survey.

We had 180 responses:

  • 86%

    Residential Ratepayers

  • 5%

    Farm Land Ratepayers

  • 5%

    Commercial and Industrial Ratepayers

The feedback told us that you:

  • Support a reduction in the farm rate
  • Do not believe the early payment discount is fair and equitable

Drawing on this community feedback and engagement throughout the Budget project:

  • There is a change to the rates and charges structure for 2025/2026 across the different classes of land
  • The early payment discount will be reviewed

Rate changes

  • 10% reduction

Farm Land differential rate will decrease to 65% of the general rate

  • 5% increase

The Commercial and Industrial differential rate A will increase to 190% of the general rate

  • 5% increase

The Commercial and Industrial differential rate B will increase to 185% of the general rate

  • 5% increase

The Commercial and Industrial differential rate C will increase to 195% of the general rate

The council has now adopted the Revenue and Rating Plan 2025-2029.
