The Project
Local Law 11 protects public assets from damage, deterioration or abuse during private construction work. It also aims to protect the neighbourhood and environment of the community during the construction process. Public assets refer to:
Local Law 11 has expired and community consultation on the draft replacement Local Law 11 is required. The Law is important as it allows the City to regulate and protect community assets in the road reserve from damage caused by private works.
No changes have been made to the previous version of Local Law 11. The City propose to reinstate Local Law 11 until a major reform to Local Laws begins in 2027.

Community feedback survey opens Monday April 22, 2024 and closes for feedback Friday May 17, 2024.
You can also make a written submission to provide feedback, in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989. Written submissions must be received by May 25, 2024 to PO box 733, Bendigo VIC 3552, or via email to engineering@bendigo.vic.gov.au
