News update: E-scooter trial survey

The feedback collected from this survey has contributed to the overall evaluation of the trial, alongside insights from key stakeholders.

All this information has been compiled into a Council report, which will be presented at the Council meeting on Monday May 19, to determine the future of the trial.

The community feedback survey for the e-scooter trial was open from Monday February 24 until Monday March 17, 2025. We received:

32.66% favoured expansion, 32.53% preferred no changes and 34.80% wanted a smaller area.

Most popular time was 9am - 1pm (43.82%), followed by 1pm - 5pm and 5pm - 9pm (both at 43%). Notably, 26% indicated interest in rides between 11pm - 3am, if available.

25.06% would consider using e-bikes if available for hire.

During their last trip, 34.90% walked, 28.65% used only an e-scooter, and 26.04% used a car.

If e-scooters were unavailable, 43.23% would walk, 36.06% would drive or take a taxi/Uber, and 13.02% would forgo the trip.
