Once you complete your booking for your immunisation session, an email is sent to your provided email address. This email includes pdf documents on pre-immunisation information, a side effect fact sheet including the risks, the Victorian immunisation schedule and session information.

If you have any questions, we are very happy for you to contact us prior to your appointment.

There was a suggestion about being able to lie down. We take floor mats to sessions, so if you do need to lie down, we can provide you with a mat.

In the Pre immunisation checklist you can mention any concerns you may have in the health condition section. You can also call prior to appointment. Please also mention concerns prior to the immunisation nurse when your appointment commences.

Some of the forms required are not produced by the City of Greater Bendigo Immunisation Service. We will be making suggestions to the form provider to request the addition of a range of concerns to be listed.

Thank you for the suggestion. We will aim to add extra sessions during this time. We do extend our community sessions during this flu season to provide more appointments.

We will be putting together a distraction box filled with items to distract and guide children though the immunisation procedure. You might also be interested in TLC for Kids resource for you phone called Tap 2 Distract, you can find out more below.

TLC for kids have created a Tap 2 Distract tool to help you in situations where a child may need to be distracted.

There website states:

The Science of Distraction™

We aim to distract the child from what is happening and focus instead on a therapeutic item from the Distraction™ Box.

This can ease the child’s fear and lower the need for medical sedatives and pain relievers, meaning reduced anxiety for the child, parent, and professional, and a smoother procedure overall. It’s used in emergency departments, immunisations, paediatric wards, & even chemotherapy.

Tap 2 Distract

There is also a free digital tool that offers numerous benefits for pain management and coping with stressful situations, making it particularly valuable for children or individuals with needle phobia undergoing immunisations.

Having you register means we can be prepared. This includes making the sessions long enough to see everyone, having the right amount and type of vaccines, and knowing any concerns you might have identified in your registration. It also means we are able to provide you with all relevant information prior to your appointment, such as vaccine information.

From 1 July 2021, vaccination providers are required to report all National Immunisation Program (NIP) vaccines administered to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). Reporting these vaccinations to the AIR means that the register contains a complete and reliable dataset and is able to monitor immunisation coverage and administration. It also means that individuals have a complete record of their vaccinations.

The immunisation nurse will provide you with information on how to comfort your child during, and after the immunisation. We will also be working towards adding this information to our website page and pre immunisation information in the near future.

All information on the City's Immunisation Service is listed and promoted on the City website. We will be reviewing other ways to promote and inform the community as part of our review.
