Thank you again to everyone that reviewed the Affordable Housing Action Plan 2026-2028 and completed the survey.

The Plan was adopted at the June 2026 Council meeting.

The Plan outlines a range of actions addressing the need for more affordable and social housing, while also challenging the stigma around homelessness, rough sleeping, and housing stress in the community.

The adopted Plan incorporated the following changes based on feedback from community and stakeholders:

• A new action supporting Tiny Homes of Wheels has been added
• Flagship 1.1 now includes a commitment to seek a proportion of accessible housing
• Additional information on First Nations barriers to housing
• Accessibility standards defined and included in Action 2.1

This two-year plan complements the City’s Managed Growth Strategy that supports denser and more diverse housing options in urban areas. The Managed Growth Strategy also identifies additional growth areas for greenfield development.

We will now work with our partners to put the Plan into action over the next two years.
