The Active and Healthy Greater Bendigo Framework is decision-making tool to guide how the City supports and invests in sport and active recreation. The Framework will explain the City’s role in providing sport and active recreation opportunities and provide a framework to inform strategic investment in projects, programs and activities.
The draft Framework was developed in consultation with key City staff and the previous Council in 2019. We also asked for feedback from the key stakeholders who use our sport and active recreation facilities.
The City already supports and invests in sport and active recreation in a number of ways by designing, constructing, maintaining and enhancing :
- Family play spaces
- Swimming pools and a splash park
- Sporting fields and facilities
- Skate parks and BMX tracks
The
City also supports local sporting clubs by providing governance support,
financial information, and guidance regarding facility hire and usage.
This project is about identifying how we make decisions about sport and active recreation and this is your opportunity to have input. Submissions were open until 5pm, August 22, 2022.
Framework
The Framework was adopted by Council on July 25 2022.
